The Daily Vinyl video #10: “Magic” by Pilot
I loved this piece of bubblegum pop back in the 70′s. Produced by Alan Parsons, who, just a couple years earlier would’ve worked on “Dark Side Of The Moon.” That gives Pilot a bit of street cred in my book.
The video placement was inspired by my daughters chalk drawing of a rainbow. I thought, “woah… that’s magical.” (and of course, by now, everywhere I look I’m thinking “could I put my record player there? and what song would I play?)
And look at what I found on Amazon! I’m totally getting this…
Download 20 Bubblegum-a-licious pop tunes for $8. Including “Magic” — obviously, but also Elton John singing the McCartney penned tuned made famous by Badfinger “Come & Get It” and a bunch of other one-hit-wonders from the late 60′s/early 70′s. Ya know… sometimes The Floyd is too heavy and ya just gotta feel… well…. swell!
