The Daily Vinyl video #02: “She’s A Rainbow” by The Rolling Stones (includes the intro)

The Rolling Stones got freaky in 1967. They created an album often considered to be an attempt to outdo The Beatles and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Initial releases of the album featured a three-dimensional picture of the band on the cover. This track — “She’s A Rainbow” — begins side 2. The intro was recorded outside Chichester Magistrates Court. You can hear the court’s PR-man who directed the journalists into their positions just before Mick Jagger and Keith Richards left the building after receiving their sentence in 1967 for drug possession. The single was released Dec 1967 and went to #25 in the U.S. and often appears on “best of” compilations.

Download an interesting late 60′s hits compilation.

The Daily Vinyl video #01: “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd

How long does it take you to realize where the turntable is?

What a brilliant album, as is most of Pink Floyd’s output from 1973-1979.
